2027 General Elections: Petrol Could Rise To ₦2500 While Cement To ₦18000

The Leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele, has warned that Nigerians could face severe economic hardship if they elect what he described as the “wrong candidate” in the 2027 general elections.

Ayodele, in a statement issued by his media aide, Osho Oluwatosin, predicted that the price of petrol could rise to ₦2,500 per litre, while diesel could reach ₦3,000 per litre under what he described as an unfavourable political leadership.

The cleric also predicted increases in electricity tariffs, examination fees and the price of building materials, including cement.

According to him, a bag of cement could sell for as much as ₦18,000, while the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) examination fee could rise to ₦70,000.

“If Nigeria votes for the wrong candidate in 2027, petrol will rise to ₦2,500, and diesel will go to ₦3,000. There will be economic hardship, and insecurity will increase.

“Another new terrorist group will come up, and electricity tariffs will rise. WAEC fee will rise to ₦70,000, and a bag of cement will rise to ₦18,000 regardless of whatever Dangote does,” Ayodele was quoted as saying.

The cleric further predicted that the country could experience worsening insecurity, declining foreign reserves and increased corruption if the wrong candidate emerges from the 2027 election.

“The poor will suffer it greatly, and everything will change. There will be wrong policies, our foreign reserves will go down, corruption will increase,” he said.

Ayodele urged Nigerians to pay close attention to the candidates and their policies ahead of the 2027 elections, warning citizens against making voting decisions based solely on short-term material benefits.

He advised voters not to be influenced by the distribution of food items or small amounts of money during election campaigns, arguing that such decisions could have long-term consequences.

“Nigerians must open their eyes before voting for any candidate in the forthcoming election. This election will determine a lot, and if care isn’t taken, Nigerians will move into another round of hardship.

“Don’t just vote for people because of cups of rice and a few thousand. Whatever decision you make determines your life in the next four years. If a wrong candidate emerges, it will be difficult for Nigerians,” he said.

The cleric also said he would, in the coming months, reveal what he described as God’s preferred choice for Nigeria ahead of the 2027 presidential election.

“In the coming days, I will reveal God’s choice for Nigerians in the coming election. I will let the people know how to identify the best candidate, but it’s left to them to decide what they want to follow.

“However, a wrong candidate will bring severe hardship,” Ayodele said.
