VIRAL VIDEO: Watch Exciting Moment Arsenal Celebrated First Premier League Title Win After 22-Year Wait

Arsenal supporters waited deep into Tuesday night, May 20, for a moment that had felt painfully distant for more than two decades. When it finally arrived, the release was instant and thunderous.

Fans packed pubs and streets around Emirates Stadium as rivals Manchester City faced AFC Bournemouth, knowing only victory would keep the title race alive.

Interestingly, Manchester City could only draw on the south coast, confirming Arsenal as champions of the Premier League for the first time in 22 years.

Across north London, cheers exploded at the final whistle. Strangers embraced. Songs filled the air. Inside pubs, pints were thrown skyward as fans celebrated a triumph many feared might never come after repeated near misses in recent seasons.

The celebrations were mirrored at the club’s training ground, where players and staff had gathered to follow the decisive match together. As confirmation arrived, the squad burst into dancing and chants of “Campeones, Campeones, Ole Ole Ole!” The long wait was over.

Only weeks earlier, captain Declan Rice had insisted “it’s not done” after a painful defeat to Manchester City. On Tuesday night, his tone changed. He posted a photo of the squad celebrating with a simple caption: “It’s done.”

The title marks a crowning moment for manager Mikel Arteta in his seventh year in charge, a tenure that has transformed Arsenal from a rebuilding project into champions.

The victory carries deep historical resonance. When Arsenal completed their unbeaten 2003-04 campaign, earning the famous Invincibles tag, few imagined it would take almost a quarter of a century to lift the title again. The passage of time has shaped the lives of supporters who grew up waiting.

“I’ve got married, had a child, who’s now a teenager, and got divorced, all since Arsenal last won the league,” fan Matt wrote on BBC Sport’s live text commentary.

“I am confident that we are going to do it,” supporter Chloe said on BBC Radio 5 Live.

“PSG are very worthy opponents. But I feel there is that edge and hunger and on our day… I feel that this is our time.”

Messages of congratulations quickly poured in from across sport and politics. Prime Minister Keir Starmer wrote on 𝕏: “22 long years for the Arsenal. But finally, we’re back where we belong. Champions!”

London Mayor Sadiq Khan added: “Congratulations to Arsenal, the first London club to win the league in almost a decade and 22 years in the making.”

Seven-time Formula 1 world champion Lewis Hamilton posted an image of the squad celebrating with the caption: “Come On You Gunners.”

Even in defeat, City manager Pep Guardiola offered warm praise. “We were close,” he said.

“On behalf of everyone at Manchester City, we congratulate Mikel and all the staff, players and fans on winning the Premier League. They deserve it.”

While the celebrations continue, attention is already shifting to Europe. Arsenal face Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League final on 30 May, with dreams of a historic double now firmly alive.
