Cubana Chief Priest: Tinubu Still Doesn’t Fully Trust Me Because I’m Igbo
Nigerian socialite Paschal Okechukwu, also known as Chief Priest, has said that President Bola Tinubu does not fully trust him because he is from the Igbo ethnic group and once worked closely with Peter Obi.
The Genius Media Nigeria reports that the businessman spoke during a live session with streamer, Peller.
According to him, his background makes some people in Tinubu’s circle see him as someone who could change loyalty in the future.
He also spoke about his decision to leave Peter Obi’s political camp, saying he did so because he did not want to continue experiencing losses in politics.
Chief Priest further stated that Peter Obi is not yet fully prepared for leadership at the highest level and expressed doubt that Obi would win the next presidential election.
He said: “Tinubu still doesn’t fully trust me because I’m an Igbo man and I once worked for Peter Obi, so they feel I could betray him too. I left Peter Obi because I didn’t want to keep losing. Peter Obi is not ready and I don’t see him winning the next election.”
His comments come after he lost the All Progressives Congress (APC) primary election for Orsu/Orlu/Oru East federal constituency seat to the incumbent lawmaker, Canice Nwachukwu.
