BREAKING: Police Arrest Father Of PFIPC DG Adeyemi Adeniyi Amid Ongoing Forgery Probe Vs Gbajabiamila
Police operatives have arrested the father of the Director General of the Presidential Fiscal and Infrastructure Projects Council (PFIPC), Prince Adeyemi Adeniyi, in connection with the ongoing investigation into forgery linked to the purported council.
The Genius Media Nigeria learnt that police operatives on Monday stormed the Ogbomoso residence of Adeyemi’s family and arrested his father, alongside a family friend who visited the family.
Confirming the arrest to Punch, Human Rights Activist, Femi Falana (SAN), said the arrest left Adeniyi’s aged mother in shock.
According to Falana, there is no legal basis for substituted arrests.
He said, “Police have now stormed the house of the parents of Prince Adeyemi Adeniyi, Plot 3, Adeniyi Dynasty, behind Technical College, Road Safety Area, Ogbomoso.
“The father has been arrested. There is no legal basis for substituted arrests. The young man has promised to show up in court, so why arrest his father?”
Also, a resident of the neighbourhood who spoke on the arrest said the police officers arrived at the premises in four vehicles before allegedly taking Adeniyi’s father away.
The source said, “They came with four vehicles, and they started harassing them and eventually took the father away. They didn’t allow the neighbours to intervene before they took him away. At the moment, there is a man in blue clothes patrolling the area.”
