Ogun State APC Primary: Abiodun Hails Yayi’s Emergence as Proof of Party Confidence, Unity

Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, has described the overwhelming acceptance of Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, popularly known as Yayi, as the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate as a clear demonstration of the confidence party members have in his leadership ability, political experience, and capacity to lead the state.

Governor Abiodun made the remarks shortly after officially declaring Senator Adeola Yayi winner of the APC governorship primary election conducted across Ogun State on Thursday, May 21, 2026.

Congratulating the senator on his emergence as the party’s flag bearer for the 2027 governorship election, the governor reaffirmed the determination of APC leaders and members in the state to remain united and committed towards securing victory for the party in the forthcoming general elections.

Abiodun also expressed deep appreciation to party leaders, stakeholders, members, electoral officials, and security agencies for their dedication, cooperation, and orderly conduct throughout the exercise, which he noted contributed significantly to the peaceful and successful outcome of the primary election across the state.

The governor further commended members of the APC in Ogun State for what he described as their maturity and peaceful conduct during the direct primary election that produced Senator Adeola Yayi as the party’s gubernatorial candidate.

According to him, the primary election was orderly, transparent, and credible, reflecting the unity, discipline, and democratic culture that the APC has continued to uphold in Ogun State.

Governor Abiodun added that the party remains focused and united in its resolve to consolidate on the achievements already recorded in governance while sustaining developmental strides across the state for the benefit of the people.

He also urged party faithful and supporters to continue to maintain peace, harmony, and unity within the APC as preparations intensify ahead of the 2027 general elections.
