Cross River Lawmaker, Lady Elizabeth Edem Ironbar Is Dead—-A member of the Cross River State House of Assembly, Lady Elizabeth Edem Ironbar is dead.
Ironbar, who represented Akpabuyo constituency, died early on Wednesday after a protracted illness, a family source confirmed to SaharaReporters on Wednesday morning saying, “Yes, she is dead. It happened early today.”
True to her name, Ironbar was seen as a tough woman.
She had represented her constituency since 2015 and was said to have refused to defect from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC) following the defection of the state governor, Ben Ayade to the latter party.
Ironbar is known for her Cross River State Disability Commission bill and is the second member of the ninth Assembly to die.
The first was Mr. Godwin Akwaji, a member of the PDP who represented Obudu constituency.
He passed on in June 2020.
