Belgian international and Chelsea star, Eden Hazard is expected to say his goodbyes to Blues fans after his side take on Watford today.
As the Londoners set to host Watford today, with a win sure to go a long way to securing their place in the top four.
The Blues have had a turbulent season, and a spot in the Champions League qualifying places would be a remarkable achievement for Maurizio Sarri’s men.
The west London side also remain in the Europa League, and are expected to go through to the final as they take a 1-1 draw into the semi-final home leg on Thursday.
But despite looking set to reinstate themselves in the Champions League next season, they are likely to lose star name Hazard.
Goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois made the switch from Stamford Bridge to the Bernabeu last summer, calling on Hazard to do the same.
And after a rather torrid first year back in the Spanish capital, the Belgium No. 1 looks to have finally got his wish.
No formal announcement has yet been made by either club with regard to a transfer, but it is widely expected that Hazard will make the move this summer.
So why will he say goodbye to fans today after the Watford game?
Chelsea’s last home game of the season will technically be the Europa League semi-final second-leg clash with Frankfurt.
But the Blues always do their lap of honour after the final home league game of every season.
This means Hazard will be given the opportunity to wave goodbye to the Stamford Bridge faithful after almost seven years at the club.
It is also likely to be an emotional sending off for centre-back Gary Cahill, while it could also be the final home Blues game for Olivier Giroud and David Luiz.
Hazard is expected to have his entire family inside the stadium for his final home league game.
Players’ children often take to the pitch for a final walk around the ground as they wave to fans.
And Hazard’s three sons will likely be with him as he bids farewell to the Chelsea fans.
Kick off from Stamford Bridge will be at 2pm.
