BREAKING: Michaely Bihina Saves 4 Penaties As Cameroon Knocks Out Morocco To Reach 2026 WAFCON Final

The Genius Media Nigeria reports that Cameroon has progress to the final of the 2026 WAFCON after defeating Host Nation Morocco on penalties

Morocco had 100% win rate in penalties until they met Goat Michealy Bihina who saved 4 penalty against MOROCCO

The Indomitable Lionesses held their nerve in a tense semi-final at the Moulay El Hassan Stadium, surviving 120 minutes without conceding before producing the more composed performance in the decisive shootout.

Morocco dominated possession for long periods, controlling 64 per cent of the ball and registering 13 shots compared with Cameroon’s seven. However, the hosts struggled to turn their territorial advantage into clear opportunities, managing only one big chance during the match.

Cameroon, meanwhile, remained compact and disciplined, limiting Morocco to three shots on target and forcing the contest into extra time.

Neither side could break the deadlock during the additional 30 minutes, setting up a dramatic penalty shootout.

Morocco scored through Hanane Aït El Haj with their opening kick, but Cameroon responded through Marie Ngah. The pressure then shifted heavily towards the hosts.

Kenza Chapelle missed Morocco’s second penalty, while Grâce Davila Mendoua also failed to convert for Cameroon.

Maryame Atiq Ez-Zity subsequently missed Morocco’s third attempt, while Cameroon’s Rose Bella scored to give the Indomitable Lionesses the advantage.

After Sakina Ouzraoui missed Morocco’s fourth penalty, Myriam Nyadjou converted for Cameroon to seal the 3-1 shootout victory.

The result is a major disappointment for Morocco, who were playing on home soil and had advanced to the semi-finals with ambitions of reaching the final. The hosts had also entered the tournament as one of the sides expected to challenge for the title.

For Cameroon, the victory represents another significant step in their long history at the continental tournament. The Indomitable Lionesses have been one of Africa’s most established forces in women’s football and now have another opportunity to compete for the WAFCON title.

The final will bring together Cameroon and Malawi, who earlier stunned Algeria 3-1 in the other semi-final.

Malawi’s victory had already produced one of the tournament’s biggest stories, with the debutants reaching the final.

The final is scheduled for August 16 in Rabat.
