Davido’s Wife, Chioma Threatens Legal Action Over Sophia Momodu Supporters
Chioma Adeleke, wife of Afrobeats superstar Davido, has reportedly threatened to take legal action against individuals involved in alleged online harassment connected to supporters of Sophia Momodu.
The issue began after screenshots from WhatsApp groups allegedly named “Sophia Lovers” and “TSM Lovers” surfaced online on Tuesday, sparking widespread reactions across social media platforms. The groups were said to be involved in conversations targeting Chioma and her relationship with Davido.
Reacting to the development, Chioma’s manager, Ubi Franklin, took to X (formerly Twitter) to address the situation. He described the groups as part of a planned and coordinated attempt to bully and harass Chioma, her husband, and members of her management team.
According to Ubi Franklin, multiple groups were allegedly created with the sole aim of attacking Chioma online. He expressed concern over the growing trend of cyberbullying, especially when it targets individuals’ personal lives and relationships.
He further warned that those behind the alleged harassment would be identified and held accountable for their actions. He stressed that cyberbullying and online harassment are serious offences under Nigerian law and should not be taken lightly.
Citing the Cybercrimes (Prohibition, Prevention, etc.) Act, 2015, he noted that individuals found guilty of such acts could face legal consequences. He added that steps are already being considered to ensure that those responsible are brought to justice.
The situation has since generated mixed reactions online, with some calling for calm while others stress the need to address cyberbullying more strictly in Nigeria’s digital space. Many observers believe the case could set an example for how online harassment is handled legally.
As the issue continues to unfold, Chioma’s camp appears firm in its stance to protect her reputation and personal life, signaling that legal measures may soon follow if the alleged actions persist.
