The Senegal Football Federation (FSF) has raised serious concerns over security arrangements, training venue allocation, and ticket distribution ahead of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) final against hosts Morocco in Rabat. The federation claims lapses in organisational planning are affecting player safety, preparation, and fan access ahead of the continental showdown.

In a formal statement to the Confederation of African Football (CAF) and the tournament organisers, the FSF highlighted that security at the Rabat railway station was inadequate, leaving players and officials exposed to overcrowding and potential risks. Officials stressed that robust safety measures are crucial for a match of such high profile.

The federation also protested the allocation of the training venue, initially scheduled at Morocco’s Mohammed VI Football Complex, citing concerns over competitive fairness and strategic confidentiality. Alternative arrangements for practice sessions are reportedly being discussed, though no final decision has been confirmed.

Further complaints include delays in assigning appropriate accommodation and limited ticket allocation for Senegalese fans, with the federation arguing that the number of VVIP and category tickets is insufficient given the high demand and support from traveling fans.

The FSF has urged CAF and local organisers to address these issues promptly to ensure the AFCON final is conducted fairly and safely, while also protecting the interests of both teams and their supporters.
