14 Days After, APC Candidate Bola Oyebamiji Finally Concedes OSUN 2026 Defeat To Governor Adeleke
The All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Osun State, Bola Oyebamiji, has finally conceded defeat to Governor Ademola Adeleke of the Accord Party and congratulated him on his victory in the August 15, 2026 governorship election.
Oyebamiji announced his acceptance of the election outcome in a statement on X on Saturday while addressing APC leaders, members and supporters in the state on the party’s next steps.
He expressed appreciation to those who supported his candidacy throughout the election, including Bola Tinubu, former APC national chairman Bisi Akande and former Osun State governor Gboyega Oyetola.

While accepting the result and congratulating Adeleke, Oyebamiji said he could not forget the violence recorded during the election period and the lives lost in the state.
He mourned the victims of political violence and expressed solidarity with their families, while calling on relevant security agencies to thoroughly investigate the incidents and ensure that those responsible are brought to justice.
Oyebamiji said no political contest should cost any Nigerian their life, stressing that the governorship election had ended but his commitment to Osun State remained unwavering.
He urged APC supporters not to be discouraged and called on them to remain calm, united and committed to democracy and the institutions established to protect it.
The APC candidate also called on members of the party to close ranks and strengthen their structures ahead of the 2027 general election, stating that his immediate responsibility would be to mobilise support for Tinubu’s re-election and the success of APC candidates in Osun State.
The Parallel Facts reported that the Independent National Electoral Commission declared Adeleke the winner after he secured 511,067 votes across the state’s 30 local government areas, while Oyebamiji polled 444,815 votes.
