CHELSEA have completed the signing of Morgan Rogers from Aston Villa for a British record transfer fee of £117 million.
The England international, who featured at the 2026 World Cup, signed a long-term deal with the Blues, who beat London rivals Arsenal to the forward.
“Chelsea is delighted to announce the signing of England international Morgan Rogers from Aston Villa,” the club stated on their official channels tonight.
“The 23-year-old forward has signed a contract at Stamford Bridge until 2033 and will join Xabi Alonso’s squad ahead of the 2026/27 season.”
Rogers returned from the United States yesterday to undergo a medical in London and sign a six-year contract with an option for a further year.
“I’m so excited,” Rogers said. “For me, Chelsea are the biggest club in London and a club I’ve always admired since I was a kid.
“I’m really excited about the project with the new manager, the players we’ve got and where the club is heading. That’s why I’m here and I can’t wait to get started.”
Chelsea praised Rogers as they profiled their new acquisition.
“Rogers arrives at Chelsea having established himself as one of the Premier League’s leading young attacking talents,” the club wrote.
“During his time at Aston Villa, his goals and assists contributed to 40 goals in 85 Premier League appearances, guiding the Midlands club to a top-four finish before lifting the UEFA Europa League trophy last season.
“Since making his senior England debut in November 2024, Rogers has become a regular for the Three Lions, earning 22 caps and representing his country at this summer’s FIFA World Cup.
“Welcome to Chelsea, Morgan!”
