#GOAT!!! Avoid Doing Business With People Who Rank Ronaldo Above Messi – Comedian Bovi Advises
Nigerian comedian and actor, Bovi Ugboma, popularly known as Bovi, has stirred fresh reactions among football fans after weighing in on the long-standing debate over who is the better footballer between Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.
In a video shared on his Instagram page on Wednesday, Bovi jokingly advised people to be cautious about entering into business partnerships with anyone who insists that Ronaldo is a better footballer than Messi.
‘Ask Them Their Favourite Footballer’
The comedian said a person’s position on the Messi-Ronaldo rivalry could reveal how they interpret facts and reality, especially when money and trust are involved.
“If you want to get into business with someone you don’t know so well and you’re going to invest your money together, ask the person who his favourite footballer is.
“If he says Ronaldo, you might still want to do business with him. If he says Ronaldo is his GOAT, that’s perfectly okay. But ask him between Ronaldo and Messi who is a better footballer. If he says matter-of-factly that Ronaldo is a better footballer than Messi, pick up your shoes and run,” Bovi said.
Bovi Warns Against ‘Altering Reality’
The comedian clarified that there was nothing wrong with anyone preferring Ronaldo as a favourite player or even regarding him as the Greatest of All Time (GOAT).
However, he argued that confidently claiming the Portuguese star is a better footballer than Messi should be considered a red flag.
According to him, people who hold such views may have the tendency to “alter reality” to suit their personal beliefs, regardless of available facts or evidence.
He said such a mindset could go beyond football arguments and affect business dealings, as the person may twist obvious truths to fit a preferred narrative.
The Genius Media Nigeria reports that Bovi’s remarks have since triggered debate on social media, with fans of both players renewing arguments over the superiority of Messi and Ronaldo.
The rivalry between the Argentine and the Portuguese has dominated football conversations for over a decade, with both players widely regarded as two of the greatest footballers in history.
