The Ghanaian entertainment industry has been thrown into mourning following the death of celebrated actress Beverly Afaglo, who passed away at the age of 42, a few days to her 43rd birthday.
The sad news was confirmed by her husband, musician Choirmaster, who shared the message on Instagram on Sunday, May 24.
In his tribute, he described Beverly as the pillar of his life, expressing deep shock over her passing just days before her 43rd birthday.
“My heart is shattered beyond words over the death of my beloved wife, Beverly Afaglo!!!” he wrote.
He added that her death came at a painful time, so close to a milestone she would have celebrated.
“It would have been just about four more days to your birthday, but I guess the Lord wanted to celebrate with you, so He called you,” he stated.
Reflecting on their relationship, Choirmaster said every moment spent with her was meaningful and promised to continue the dreams they built together.
“You were my strength, my happiness, and the reason my life felt complete. I promise to take care of and continue everything we planned and started. Until my last breath, you will remain in my heart forever,” the bereaved husband added.

Before her passing, Beverly Afaglo built a respected career in Ghana’s film industry after studying journalism and public relations at the Ghana Institute of Journalism.
She gained recognition for strong performances in popular films such as The Game, A Northern Affair, Aloe Vera, and Sidechic Gang, becoming one of the most recognizable faces in contemporary Ghanaian cinema.
She also built a reputation as an entrepreneur, founding B.A.B Handyman Ghana Ltd and growing her food business, Traffic Shawarma.
Her resilience was widely admired, especially after she rebuilt parts of her life following a devastating house fire in 2021 that destroyed her home.
