JUST IN: Obi Cubana Deletes All City Boy Movement Posts From Instagram
Nigerian businessman and socialite, Obi Cubana, has reportedly deleted all Instagram posts linked to the City Boy Movement, a pro-President Bola Tinubu organisation.
The development comes amid criticism from some Nigerians over his public support for the Tinubu administration.
The Genius Media Nnigeria recalls that Obi Cubana was earlier appointed as the South-East Coordinator of the City Boy Movement, a youth-driven political advocacy platform promoting the President’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
As of the time of filing this report, the businessman had yet to issue an official statement on the removal of the posts.
Obi Cubana has recently come under criticism from some Nigerians following his association with the pro-Tinubu group.
His public role in the City Boy Movement drew reactions online, especially from those who faulted his support for the current administration.
The deleted posts were said to have been connected to his involvement with the movement and its activities.
TGM checked his Instagram handle and found no posts related to the political movement as of the time of filing this report.
However, it remained unclear whether the removal of the posts signalled Obi Cubana’s withdrawal from the group or was merely a personal decision to clean up his social media page.
The City Boy Movement is described as a youth-focused political advocacy and civic engagement platform.
The group was created to promote the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Tinubu and mobilise grassroots support for the administration.
According to reports, the organisation seeks to empower young Nigerians and strengthen communication between the government and local communities.
It has also been involved in campus tours, rallies and food drives, including the distribution of cash grants and relief materials to vulnerable households across the country.
Despite the growing reactions, Obi Cubana has not publicly addressed the reported deletion of the posts.
