How Cubana Chief Priest City Boy Loses APC House Of Reps Ticket To Village Boy
The political ambition of nightlife promoter and socialite Cubana Chief Priest has suffered a setback after he lost the All Progressives Congress (APC) primary election for the House of Representatives seat in Imo State.
He contested for the party’s ticket to represent the Orsu/Orlu/Oru East federal constituency ahead of the 2027 general elections. However, the bid ended in defeat as the incumbent lawmaker, Canice Moore Nwachukwu, clinched the party’s nomination for another term.
Nwachukwu, who is currently serving his second term in the House of Representatives, maintained his stronghold in the constituency during the primary, securing the ticket over the celebrity aspirant.
Cubana Chief Priest, whose real name is Pascal Okechukwu, has been actively involved in political activities within the ruling party in recent years. He is also known for his strong public support for the APC and President Bola Tinubu’s administration.
He previously served as the Imo State Director of the City Boy Movement, a youth-driven political support group mobilised for Tinubu’s re-election campaign, which further raised his profile within the party structure.
Despite his visibility and political engagements, the primary election outcome did not favour him, as party delegates opted to retain the sitting lawmaker.
The result adds to the ongoing wave of APC primary contests across the country as parties position their candidates ahead of the 2027 general elections.
