Gbajabiamila Reveals How Tinubu Almost Sacked Him Because Of Desmond Elliott [VIRAL VIDEO]
The Chief of Staff to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Femi Gbajabiamila, has narrated how he almost lost his job during the political crisis in Lagos State that led to the impeachment of the State Assembly Speaker, Mudashiru Obasa.
The Genius Media Nigeria reports that Gbajabiamila, a former Speaker of the House of Representatives, made this known during a political meeting.
He stated that Tinubu had accused him of backing Desmond Elliott, a lawmaker representing Surulere 1 Constituency in the Lagos State House of Assembly, during the removal of Obasa.
Recall that some members of the state assembly had impeached Obasa as Speaker but their decision was reversed by the President.
Speaking at the gathering, Gbajabiamila revealed that he had warned Elliott to distance himself from the plot to Impeach the Speaker, but his warning was not taken.
He also stated that after a call from the Director General of the Department of State Security (DSS), he asked Desmond Elliott to put out a public statement disassociating himself from the plot to remove Obasa but the lawmaker refused.
Gbajabiamila said: “I almost lost my job as Chief of Staff last year because of Desmond Elliot. Mr. President called me to his house in Abuja during the Lagos Speaker Obasa saga. He said, ‘I hear this Desmond is your boy, the one we gave you,’ and I said, ‘Yes, sir.’ He is one of the people causing problems in the Lagos House of Assembly.”
