MANCHESTER CITY will rename their Etihad Stadium for the first time in 15 years.

But it will only be for this week’s Premier League encounter with Brentford.

The name will change to ‘The City in the Community Etihad Stadium‘ as part of the ongoing recognition of the club’s official charity.

The club plans to highlight the charities in more ways than just renaming the stadium, too.

The players will walk out in jackets with the charity’s branding when they face the Bees.

Defender Ruben Dias has voiced travel announcements for buses and trams on matchday routes.

Player graphics on social media have also been drawn up by local schoolchildren.

One matchday is picked every year to showcase everything the charity does, but this is the first time City have renamed their stadium to mark the occasion.

The charity itself has been going since 1986 and they aim to support greater Manchester by empowering healthier lives.

Man City will hope to mark the special event with a win as they hope to catch Arsenal in their pursuit of a ninth Premier League title.
