The content creator has taken a similar position to Portable, who previously declined rematch requests from Charles Okocha and Speed Darlington after defeating them in earlier celebrity boxing contests.

“I’m not considering a rematch right now. I need to rest first; I’m exhausted. He can ask me again later,” Efe said.

Observers noted the irony, as Portable had earlier refused to grant Okocha and Darlington rematches after securing victories against them. The singer now finds himself in a similar position.

Efe’s win also came with a significant financial reward, as Lagos businessman Emeka Okonkwo confirmed he would fulfil his pre-fight promise of N50 million to the winner.

“We stand by our word. Congratulations, Carter, on your victory — N50 million is yours,” E-Money announced.

Celebrating after the bout, Efe reacted humorously when a fan compared him to Anthony Joshua.

“Who called me Anthony Joshua? My name is Carter Mayweather,” he replied, drawing loud cheers from the audience.

Meanwhile, Portable expressed dissatisfaction with the outcome, taking to Instagram to claim the result was unfair. He accused Efe of using his height and reach advantage improperly.

“I was cheated. Carter Efe didn’t fight professionally. He kept using his long reach to hold me. I landed several punches — why were they not counted?” he said, while also calling for what he described as his share of the event’s streaming revenue.

Despite the loss, Portable had a personal moment of joy, as his wife, Omobewaji Ewatomi, welcomed a baby boy the same night. The child has been named Jamal Iremide.

In the headline bout, Godday Appah emerged as the new WBO Africa cruiserweight champion after a split decision victory over Ezra Arenyeka in a contest described as a symbolic Peace Fight between the Itsekiri and Ijaw communities.

Basit Adebayo also secured a WBO Africa title with a unanimous decision win against former WABU champion Loren Japhet.

On the undercard, Samuel Antwi delivered a first-round knockout against former WBC Intercontinental champion Paul Kamanga. Rasheed Adeyemo recorded a third-round knockout victory, while Seun Wahab won the opening bout.

In other contests, Raheem Animashaun defeated Emmanuel Amos by unanimous decision after six rounds, while British southpaw Michael McKinson secured a unanimous decision win over a late replacement opponent across eight rounds.

The Chief Executive Officer of Balmoral Group Promotions, Ezekiel Adamu, expressed satisfaction with the event.

“We promised excitement with Chaos in the Ring, and the fighters delivered. There is more to come, and we appreciate everyone who contributed to making this event a success,” he said.
