BREAKING: ADC Server On Maintenance As Supporters Of Peter Obi And Kwankwaso Struggle With De-registration Process
The official server of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) is currently showing a maintenance notice, according to findings observed by NWN, amid reports of increased attempts by supporters to deregister from the party.
The development comes shortly after former ADC members, including Peter Obi and Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, were reported to have resigned from the party and joined the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), sparking renewed activity among their political supporters.
The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), which is now at the centre of growing political realignments, is reportedly attracting former ADC members as preparations toward future electoral participation continue.
The African Democratic Congress (ADC), meanwhile, has not issued an official statement explaining the maintenance status of its online platform.
Supporters of the two politicians, widely associated with the Obidient Movement and Kwankwasiyya political structure, have reportedly been attempting to deregister from the ADC in compliance with provisions of Nigeria’s new electoral law, which prohibits dual party membership.
A visit to the ADC website by NWN confirmed that the platform was displaying a “maintenance ongoing” notice, temporarily limiting access to its services.
Reacting to the situation, a member of the Obidient Movement identified as Queen Bee alleged that the development was deliberate, suggesting it was linked to the high volume of deregistration attempts.
“BREAKING: Due to the high number of people deregistering themselves from the ADC, they have now quickly switched off their server. It’s now showing ‘Maintenance Ongoing.’ The same thing that Mahmood Yakubu did. Those guys are worse than criminals and Bandits,” she wrote.
Her comments have circulated widely on social media, although the ADC has not responded to the allegation at the time of filing this report.
