BREAKING: APGA Pegs Presidential Form At ₦25 Million, Releases 2027 Primary Election Timetable
The National Working Committee of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has released its provisional timetable and schedule of activities for the conduct of primary elections ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The party also announced the fees for its expression of interest forms for aspirants seeking various elective positions.
The Genius Media Nigeria reports that the disclosure was contained in a statement issued by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Dr Ejimofor Opara.
According to the statement, the timetable aligns with the revised schedule released by the Independent National Electoral Commission.
“This is in compliance with the revised INEC timetable and schedule of activities for the 2027 general election dated February 26, 2026, and pursuant to its powers under the APGA constitution 2019 and the Electoral Act 2026,” the statement read.
The party outlined that the sale and return of expression of interest forms would commence on April 20 and end on May 8.
Screening of aspirants for various offices will follow shortly after, with National Assembly hopefuls scheduled for May 11, State House of Assembly aspirants on May 12, and governorship aspirants on May 13.
It added that the sale and return of nomination forms would begin on May 14 and close on May 21.
APGA reiterated its earlier position, announced during its South-East regional convention in Awka, that expression of interest forms would be sold separately from nomination forms.
The party explained that aspirants would first be screened before being cleared to purchase nomination forms, a move aimed at ensuring only qualified candidates proceed in the process.
The party also released the cost of its expression of interest forms across different offices.
The presidential form is pegged at ₦25 million, while senatorial aspirants are to pay ₦6 million.
Those seeking election into the House of Representatives will pay ₦4 million, governorship aspirants ₦10 million, and State House of Assembly hopefuls ₦2 million.
According to the timetable, all primary elections will be conducted on May 23, 2026, using the Option A4 system.
The party added that appeals arising from the primaries would be handled on May 28, 2026.
