BREAKING: 2 Nollywood Crew Members Found Dead In Lekki Film Location

The Lagos State Criminal Investigation Department, Yaba, has launched an investigation into the mysterious death of two Nollywood production crew members found lifeless inside a parked vehicle at a filming location in Lekki Phase 1.

The deceased were identified as Godstime Imeh, a lighting director and CEO of GeeTee Light, and Walter Odediran, a creative video director popularly known as Director Carrinqton.

Their bodies were discovered on the evening of Saturday, February 7, 2026, inside Imeh’s tinted Nissan vehicle. The movie set was reportedly directed by former Big Brother Naija housemate, Boma.

Sources said the two men arrived early at the location to install lighting equipment. After completing the setup around mid-morning, they reportedly rested inside Imeh’s car while awaiting further instructions.

At about 11 a.m., a crew member delivered breakfast of yams and omelettes to them. Both men were seen reclining in the vehicle, with the air conditioner running.

Concern was raised when calls to their phones went unanswered by noon. Later that evening, colleagues found them motionless inside the car.

Speaking to newsmen, Kola Odediran, elder brother of Walter, said: “Walter and I were like twin brothers. He was 36 and the last-born of our family. He was very close to Godstime Imeh. They worked hand-in-hand on movie productions.”

He recounted the events of that day: “On Saturday, February 7, they had a medical scene to shoot at Evercare Hospital. Around 10 a.m., they decided to take a break inside GeeTee’s car.

“Food was delivered to them; that was the last time anyone saw them alive. Around 7 or 8 p.m., after shooting wrapped, they were found inside the car.

“My brother was seated upright with foam at his mouth, while GeeTee was slumped, with blood from his nose, eyes, and mouth. It appeared whatever happened occurred suddenly.”

Odediran criticised the initial police response: “The case was first reported at Maroko Police Station, but was not treated urgently.

“We had to escalate it to SCID, Yaba, where it was documented as an unnatural death requiring investigation and autopsy. Everybody was invite the producer, Boma, and the boy who served the food.”

Police confirmed that the film producer, the food vendor, the staff member who delivered the meal, and hospital management have been questioned. The food vendor remains in custody.

Investigators are examining possible environmental factors, ingestion, or mechanical faults, including the presence of heavy-duty industrial generators above the parking area.

Forensic procedures, including autopsy, toxicology tests, mechanical inspection of the vehicle and review of CCTV footage, are ongoing to determine the exact cause of death.

Authorities said all possibilities remain open pending laboratory analyses.

“It has been very difficult for our family. My mother is devastated. He was the last-born. We were just two male children. This has been extremely painful for us,” Kola Odediran added.
