BREAKING: NNPCL Reduces Fuel Price Again [DETAILS]

The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has reduced the pump price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), or petrol, for the second time in less than one week.

On Thursday, December 4, 2025, the state-owned oil firm adjusted its retail price by ₦10 per liter, dropping the cost from ₦930 to ₦920 per liter at its filling stations in Abuja, including outlets in Gwarimpa, Kubwa Expressway, and Wuse Zone 4.

This latest adjustment follows an earlier price cut on November 28, 2025, of ₦15 per liter, marking a continuous downward trend at NNPCL retail outlets.

The consistent price reduction is primarily attributed to intensifying competition among major players in Nigeria’s deregulated downstream oil sector, particularly between NNPCL and the Dangote Petroleum Refinery.

Chinedu Ukadike, spokesperson for the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN), confirmed to Daily Post that fuel prices would continue to drop due to this competition.
