JUST IN: NASFAT Moves For Creation Of CBT Centre To Aid Examination
The Surulere chapter of the Nasrul-Lahi-Fathi Society (NASFAT) in Lagos, on Sunday, called for support to facilitate creation of a Computer Based Test (CBT) centre, to facilitate examination within the community.
Newsmen reports that NASFAT, known for its humanitarian work in areas of education, healthcare and empowerment, made the move to commemorate its 23rd anniversary and launch of its project.
The event, held at the NASFAT Mosque, National Stadium Surulere, featured Quran recitation, fund raising, as well as prayers for peace in Nigeria and guidance for its leaders.
It had the theme: “And Remember When You Were Few and Oppressed in the Land”
Speaking at the event, Chairman of the Planning Committee, Alhaji Abdul Ogungbenle, said that the society’s humanitarian work transcends faith denomination to every person in society.
According to him, the stability of youths in the Surulere community, is a priority for the sect.
“The name of the centre is “NASFAT Surulere Islamic Resource Centre” this project is intended to develop an appealing edifice, with a Mosque hall, learning classroom, and CBT centre.
“It is geared towards empowering a community of people through socio-economic, educational and spiritual growth initiatives,” he said.
In his remark, the Lagos Zonal Chairman of NASFAT, Alhaji Adewole Kadri-Adebowale, said that for 23 years, the branch has strengthened families and contributed to the moral-social fabric of Surulere and beyond.
“The project is not bricks and mortar; it is an investment in the future of our society.
“Whether in education, health or empowerment, this initiative will strengthen our capacity to serve humanity; It will leave a lasting legacy for generations to come,” he said.
In his lecturer at the event, the guest lecturer, Imam Abdul Rahman Adangba, prayed for peace in the society.
He described humanitarian works as being cardinal to the sect.
The Imam underscored the importance of charity, and called on people to see the project as a collective responsibility which must be accomplished.
“Lets us contribute financially, morally and spiritually so that the dream becomes a reality,” he said
He prayed for Allah to bless their good will, and reward their contributions always.
