JUST IN: Nigerian Afro-Gospel Singer, Gaise Baba’s Father Is Dead
The father of Nigerian Afro-gospel singer cum songwriter, Akinade Ibuoye, popularly known as Gaise Baba, is dead.
The Genius Media Nigeria reports that the ‘No Turning Back’ crooner announced the demise of his father, Prince (Hon.) Ezekiel Gbadebo Ibuoye, the Ààrẹ Apọ́nlẹ́sẹ̀ of Okemesi Ekiti in Ekiti State, in a statement shared on his social media page on Wednesday.
The singer said his father died on Saturday, November 22, at exactly 7:31 p.m., exactly seven months and seven days after the passing of his mother.
According to Gaise Baba, despite the emotional weight of the double loss within a short space of time, the family remained anchored in their faith.
The statement read, “On Saturday night, the 22nd of November, at 7:31pm, my Father – PRINCE (BARR.) EZEKIEL GBADEBO IBUOYE, Ààrẹ Apọ́nlẹ́sẹ̀ of Okemesi Ekiti, went home to be with the Lord, exactly SEVEN(7) months and SEVEN(7) days after his wife, our mother, passed on.
“No guilt in life, no fear in death. Even with the pain of physical departure, we YIELD to God, and in all things, we give Him THANKS!

Earlier this year, Gaise Baba became a sensation after releasing a reworked version of an old-time popular song, “No Turning Back,” featuring Minister Lawrence Oyor.
