BREAKING: Anthony Joshua OUT As Efe Ajagba Makes Top 10 World Heavyweight Boxers List
Nigerian heavyweight boxer Efe Ajagba has been named among the top 10 heavyweights in the world by The Ring magazine.
Efe Ajagba, 30, claimed the 10th spot in the magazine’s latest rankings released on Thursday, September 25. With a professional record of 20 wins, one loss, and one draw, including 14 knockouts, Ajagba has worked his way back into the spotlight after a series of commanding performances.
At the very top of the rankings, Ukraine’s Oleksandr Usyk holds the champion’s slot, while Britain’s Tyson Fury is the leading contender. Joseph Parker of New Zealand and Germany’s Agit Kabayel are ranked second and third respectively.
The latest shake-up also sees a familiar name fall off the list. Former two-time heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua, who has not fought in over a year, is no longer ranked in the top 10.
Joshua’s last appearance in the ring was in September 2024 when he suffered back-to-back defeats to fellow Briton Daniel Dubois. The Nigerian-born fighter’s inactivity and recent setbacks cost him a place among the division’s elite.
Joshua’s absence from the list makes Ajagba the only Nigerian boxer currently in the heavyweight top 10.
The Ring magazine which was founded in 1922, remains one of the sport’s most respected authorities, with rankings shaped by boxing journalists and historians around the world.
