FRESH: Access Bank launches Womenpreneur Pitch-a-Ton 2025

Access Bank has launched the 2025 edition of its Womenpreneur Pitch-a-Ton programme aimed at supporting female entrepreneurs across Africa.

Applications for the programme opened on Friday, September 19 and will close on Friday, October 3.

Speaking at a press conference in Lagos, group head of Women Banking at Access Bank, Nene Kunle-Ogunlusi, said the programme has provided training, mentorship and access to funding for women since it began in 2019.

According to her, this year’s edition will feature a Mini-MBA programme in partnership with the International Finance Corporation (IFC).

“The 2025 edition promises a rich and rewarding experience for women in business. Selected participants will undergo an intensive Mini-MBA program designed in partnership with the International Finance Corporation (IFC), equipping them with the knowledge and tools required to grow sustainable businesses.”

She added that grants worth over N17.5 million will be awarded to selected businesses, while other participants will also receive support.

“In addition, participants stand a chance to access significant financial support, with over N17.5 million to be awarded in grants to the most outstanding businesses”, she said.

Project manager of Womenpreneur Pitch-a-Ton, Oyeyipo Ifeoluwa, said that 878 women have been trained and grants of up to $175,000 have been awarded since the programme’s launch.

“We have trained 878 women and awarded grants of up to $175,000.00 since the launch of Womenprenuer pitch-a-ton since 2019. The programme is not just about competition; it is a holistic journey designed to transform women-led businesses and contribute to Africa’s economic development.”

The initiative is open to women entrepreneurs whose businesses are registered, have existed for more than one year and where they own at least 50 percent of the shareholding.

Applications can be submitted via thewcommunity.com/womenpreneur.
