BREAKING: Setback As Bukayo Saka Ruled Out Of Liverpool Vs Arsenal EPL Clash

Arsenal forward Bukayo Saka is expected to be sidelined for up to four weeks with a hamstring injury, ruling him out of Sunday’s Premier League game against Liverpool and England’s World Cup qualifiers against Andorra and Serbia in September.

The Genius Media Nigeria reports that the 23-year-old sustained the injury during Arsenal’s 5-0 victory over Leeds United on Saturday and was substituted in the second half.

It is the second time in two seasons that Saka has suffered a hamstring setback, having missed three months of last season with a similar problem.

Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard is also a doubt for the trip to Anfield after injuring his shoulder in the first half against Leeds. The midfielder was withdrawn before half-time and later left Emirates Stadium with his arm in a sling.

Club sources, however, remain optimistic that neither Saka nor Odegaard will be out for the long term.

Manager Mikel Arteta will look to his attacking options, which include Viktor Gyokeres, Noni Madueke, Eberechi Eze, Gabriel Martinelli, Leandro Trossard, Ethan Nwaneri and Max Dowman, to cover the potential absences.

Meanwhile, Arsenal are pursuing defensive reinforcements, with Bayer Leverkusen centre-back Piero Hincapie identified as a priority target. The Ecuador international, who has made 166 appearances since joining Leverkusen in 2021, has a release clause of €60 million.

Hincapie played a key role in Leverkusen’s Bundesliga and German Cup double last season and is understood to be open to leaving the German club before the transfer window closes. Arsenal scouts have monitored the 23-year-old extensively, according to BBC Sport.

The Gunners have already spent more than £200m on new players this summer, but are working to offload others. Fabio Vieira, Reiss Nelson and Oleksandr Zinchenko are among those available for transfer, while Porto have shown interest in defender Jakub Kiwior.
