Manchester United have announced the signing of Slovenian striker Benjamin Šeško in a blockbuster £73.7 million deal.
The 21-year-old, who arrives from Bundesliga side RB Leipzig, becomes one of the most expensive signings in the club’s history as new manager Rubén Amorim looks to bolster his attacking options ahead of the new season.
Šeško, widely regarded as one of Europe’s most exciting young forwards, scored 14 goals in 31 league appearances last season and attracted interest from several top clubs, including Arsenal and Chelsea.
United are banking on his pace, aerial dominance, and clinical finishing to provide a consistent goal threat as they aim to challenge for silverware in the 2025/26 campaign.
Speaking after the announcement, Šeško expressed his delight at joining the Red Devils:
“It’s a dream come true to sign for Manchester United. I can’t wait to play in front of the fans at Old Trafford and help the team achieve big things.”
Šeško is expected to link up with his new teammates immediately and could make his debut in United’s opening Premier League fixture next weekend.
