BREAKING: Governor Adeleke Breaks Silence On Dumping PDP For APC
Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke has insisted that he was not planning to to dump the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) or any political coalition ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Adeleke said this while dismissing raging rumours that he may join the ruling APC or the opposition’s coalition’s African Democratic Congress, ADC.
But Adeleke, in a statement by his spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed on Saturday described the speculations as false.
He therefore urged his supporters to ignore the rumours.
“Governor Adeleke who restated his preoccupation with the implementation of the administration’s five point agenda urged Osun people to ignore fake news, promising more delivery of good governance and democratic dividends.
“I assure the good people of Osun that I remain part and parcel of the PDP family. I am not defecting to any party”.
The Osun State chapter of the PDP had also denied claims that Governor Ademola Adeleke was involved in the coalition of politicians seeking to sack President Bola Tinubu from office ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Osun PDP chairman, Sunday Bisi told journalists in Osogbo, the state capital that Governor Adeleke remains fully committed to PDP and is not part of any coalition led by former Vice President Atiku Abubakar.
Atiku, a former presidential candidate of the PDP had led some prominent Nigerian politicians to form the ADC, to challenge the All Progressives Congress, APC, in the 2027 general elections.
The PDP chairman affirmed that the party in Osun State remained united and committed to its goals under the current leadership.
He said the party will not join any political alliance or coalition.
