The breakthrough came in the 64th minute courtesy of Jean Mateta’s fine strike.

Mateta reacted first after the ball had come off the crossbar to give his side a deserved lead.United improved afterwards but were unable to find the equaliser.
Mateta condemned the hosts to a seventh home league loss and 11th in all this term with a late second.
Palace climbed above 13th-placed United into 12th in the standings.
