Governor Fintiri of Adamawa State Implements New N70000 Minimum Wage.

The Genius Media Nigeria repots that in a move that underscores his commitment to improving the welfare of state workers, Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State has commenced the payment of the newly approved N70,000 minimum wage to state employees.

This development was confirmed by multiple sources, including state workers, who lauded the governor as a “man of his word.

The implementation of the new wage comes after President Bola Tinubu signed the Minimum Wage bill into law in July, following extensive negotiations with organized labor.

Despite concerns raised by several state governors about their ability to meet the increased wage due to economic constraints, Governor Fintiri has taken the bold step to ensure that state workers receive the approved salary.

Adamawa now joins Lagos and Edo as the first states to implement the new minimum wage. Both Lagos and Edo State governments had previously confirmed that their workers were already earning a minimum of N70,000 monthly.

While state workers in Adamawa have begun receiving the increased wage, local government workers in the state are scheduled to start receiving the new salary in September.

This proactive approach by Governor Fintiri has been met with widespread approval, as it demonstrates a commitment to the financial well-being of public servants in Adamawa State.
