BREAKING: Monday July 8th Declared Public Holiday For Hijrah 1446 AH Commencement——-The Genius Media Nigeria reports that Monday has been declared a Public Holiday for 1446 AH commencement.

TGM gathered that the Kano State Government and Osun State Governor, Ademola has announced Monday as a public holiday to mark the commencement of the new Islamic calendar year, 1446 AH.

In a statement issued on Friday by Baba Dantiye, the Commissioner for Information, the government emphasized the significance of the holiday for citizens to reflect on the past year and engage in beneficial activities.

Governor Yusuf Abba urged residents to utilize the holiday to contemplate the previous year’s events and participate in activities that promote mutual benefit, particularly in challenging times.

“The state government remains committed to implementing and initiating policies and programs aimed at fostering self-reliance among citizens,” the statement affirmed.

On the other hand,  a statement issued by the Commissioner for Home Affairs, Mr Rasheed Aderibigbe which was published on the Ministry of Information bulletin on Friday, stated that the holiday is to allow Muslims in the state celebrate the new Islamic year.
