As Usual, #Mohbad And Naira Marley Appear In Popular University Exam Questions—–The ordeal of late singer Ileriolowa Aloba, aka Mohbad, as an artiste under the Marlian Records label owned by Naira Marley has featured in the second-semester examination questions of engineering students of the Rivers State University (RSU), Port Harcourt.
In the question paper that was making the round online, the Faculty of Engineering, Rivers State University (RSU), Port Harcourt, asked students to relate real-life contractual agreements between an employer and employee, using the controversies surrounding Mohbad and Naira Marley’s issues.
Recall that Mohbad had suddenly died a few weeks ago. And his demise has caused an uproar as fans demanded justice for his death.
Following his death, videos and other evidence surfaced online to show how the late singer was bullied by his employer, Naira Marley, and one of his allies, Sam Larry, who are now both in police custody.
In the question, all efforts of the late singer to terminate his contract with Marlians Records were referenced, as students were asked to show their understanding of the regulatory framework in employer/employee relationships using the controversial case study.
The question reads: “Mohbad was signed/ employed by Marlians Record in Nigeria, whose CEO is Naira Marley. Though the investigation is still ongoing, reports making the rounds on the internet have it that all attempts by Mohbad (the signee) to terminate the contract between himself and Marlians Record were resisted.
“With your knowledge of the regulatory framework of employer/employee relationship, discuss the concept of notice in an employment relationship. Who can terminate the contract of employment?”
