BREAKING: Bola #Tinubu Breaks Silence To defeat by Peter Obi’s Labour Party In Lagos – INECElectionResult

The presidential candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has broken the silence over his defeat to his Labour Party counterpart, Peter Obi in Lagos.

BlackBox Nigeria earlier reported that Obi had ousted Tinubu on his own turf, amassing 582, 664 votes as against APC’s 541,850 votes, according to the results announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

The APC flagbearer has since conceded defeat in a statement released today by Bayo Onanuga, APC Presidential Campaign Council’s Director of Media and Publicity.

While claiming that APC narrowly lost in Lagos, Tinubu submitted that election is a win-lose which, in anyway it appears, must be accepted and not be a cause of disrupting the peace of the country.

“The fact that the APC narrowly lost Lagos State to another party should not be the reason for violence. As a democrat, you win some, you lose some. We must allow the process to continue unhindered across the country while we maintain peace and decorum,” the statement said.

In reaction to reports of alleged violence melted on Igbo traders in some part of the state, the former Lagos governor urged his followers to abstain from such act, stressing that people have a right to vote for the candidate of their choice.

This, according to him, is the beauty of democracy as he appealed to the Lagosians to be calm and steer clear of any act that can lead to breakdown of law and order.
