He spoke of the importance of collaboration, especially in internal revenue generation.

He said that 99 per cent of the state’s finances were in private hands and the remaining 0.02 per cent in the hands of government.

According to him, to make this vision a reality, we should all work together.

“Government cannot complete the task on its own, each and every one of you must play a part.

“We will start cleaning up all the drainages and we are about to hire those who will sweep our streets.

“We’ll start designing contemporary markets with contemporary fire protection systems so that visitors from other states and other parts of the world can be proud of our marketplaces,” he said.

The governor tasked them on maintaining the markets and asked them to report anyone building arbitrarily without permit to appropriate government agencies.

He urged all the ASMATA Central Executives and women leaders, both elected and caretaker committee, to support APGA in the upcoming elections.

Earlier, the Chairman of ASMATA, Mr Humphrey Anuna, recalled some of the projects embarked upon by the governor for the populace.

Anuna said that the governor had aggressively commenced road construction, which would be greatly beneficial to traders in the state.

“The road construction will help to reduce traffic congestion and facilitate the movement of goods,” he said.

He assured the governor that the association would cooperate with him to effectively implement his policies and programmes.
