Reasons Why G5 Governors Can’t Endorse #Tinubu And Peter Obi – #Atiku Camp Fumes—-A member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential campaign council, Don Pedro Obaseki has given reasons the aggrieved G5 Governors can’t endorse any other presidential candidate apart from Atiku Abubakar.
Obaseki who is the Director Research and Strategy of the Atiku-Okowa campaign team said it would be foolhardy for the Governors to do so.
He added that the Governors know it is political suicide if they endorse any other candidate apart from Atiku for the 2023 presidential race.
According to Obaseki who is also a media consultant to Atiku, the Governors risk expulsion if they endorse any other candidate apart from Atiku.
The PDP chieftain also warned Rivers State Governor to stop trying to play god in the matter as no man can go against the party and survive.
He made his stand known during an interview session with Channels Television on Friday night shortly after the G5 Governors returned to Nigeria from their London trip amidst reports that they might endorse the Labour Party candidate, Peter Obi, or his All Progressives Congress (APC) counterpart, Bola Tinubu.
He said: “It is very obvious his excellency Nyesom Wike understands the enormity of the task ahead and I truly believe it will be foolhardy for any of them, any of the five of them to endorse any other candidate outside of Atiku Abubakar for President of Nigeria.
“There are APC propagandists who are all over the place trying to disturb the polity so I’m happy to hear him say nothing like that has happened.
“But I know inside of me, I’ve always told everybody that it’s going to be a political suicide, a political harakiri for any of the five of them, particularly the four of them who are going to run elections to declare themselves partyless because once you openly endorse another party, you have invariably carried out anti-party activity and it’s only going to be met by expulsion.”
Stop Playing God
Obaseki warned Wike to stop threatening fire and brimstone over his position on the 2023 presidency, saying no one can play God in the matter.
He added: “I don’t feel comfortable for Nyesom Wike to continue to play God. No man is God, no man can be God and his continued vituperations make him see himself as some god and that must stop.”
