Lagos State Govt Organises Capacity Building For Item Writers—The Lagos State Examinations Board has organised a one-day sensitisation programme for Item Writers in the State tagged:”Item Writing at a glance (Methodology and Techniques): Reawakening Call to Educators”.

The Director, Lagos State Examinations Board, Mr. Supo Gbadegesin, delivering his keynote address, reiterated the commitment of Lagos State Government to revamp the education sector, imploring the item writers to present good subjects that will reflect the credibility and quality of contents in examinations.

Gbadegesin enjoined the participants to ensure their text is curriculum-based and questions should not be ambiguous but easily understandable by the candidates, while calling on stakeholders to make sure all hands are on deck to achieve the desired goal.

While noting that item writing is a vital part of conducting credible and acceptable examinations, he urged participants at the workshop to inculcate and implement the acquired knowledge for the improvement of education in Lagos State.

Item Writers are saddled with the responsibilities of creating questions, items or tasks and appropriate supporting marking instructions for examinations.
