NDE Trains 30 Women On Decorative Paint Making

JUST IN: NDE Trains 30 Women On Decorative Paint Making In Kebbi—-National Directorate of Employment (NDE) has commenced training for 30 women on how to produce decorative paint, wigs and hair turban (popularly known as head gear), in Kebbi.

Director-General of NDE, Malam Abubakar Nuhu-Fikpo, while declaring open the one-week training in Birnin Kebbi on Wednesday, said that the trainees were selected from all the 21 local government areas of the state.

Nuhu-Fikpo, represented by NDE’s Coordinator in Kebbi, Alhaji Abdullahi Danjumma-Machika, added that the trainees would receive some stipends for transportation and other logistics.

“These skills are emergent and trending amongst women across the federation, in the quest for income generation, fashion styles and aesthetics.


“Decorative paint making is akin to wall papers used in painting interior walls of the house, thus adding value to the house.

“After the training, a business start-up grant will also be provided for each trainee to encourage them to become self-reliant and employers of labour,” he said.

The director-general urged the beneficiaries to take full advantage of the training by cooperating with the trainers and ensuring that they practised what they would be taught.

A cross section of the trainees, who spoke with the News Agency of Nigeria, appreciated the Federal Government for its efforts at combating unemployment and promised not to disappoint NDE
