Political Aspirant, Idris Aregbe Pays Condolence Visit To Slain Youth’s Families—Following the horrendous outcome of the Surulere Local Government Primaries Election which claimed the lives of two youths, Political aspirant, Idris Aregbe pays a condolence visit to the families of the slain youths.
The Local Government Chairman primary elections for Surulere LGA which was held on Sunday 29th of May 2021 became a blood bath as it was hijacked by thugs allegedly sponsored by the Speaker of the House Of Reps, Hon Femi Gbajabiamila in a bid to impose his own candidate on the people.
During the election, it was reported that Thugs took over the polling unit, destroyed ballot boxes and also restricted people from voting which led to violence and claimed the lives of two promising youths who came out to exercise their fundamental human right.
Idris Aregbe released an official statement regarding this sad occurrence as he visits the families of the slain youths.
“Today Monday the 31st of May 2021. I visited families of the youths who we lost during the local council primaries in Surulere LGA that took place on Saturday the 29th of May 2021.
Their deaths are a sad occurrence. They didn’t deserve to die. These are young men cut down in their prime.
Their only sin was seeking a change in the management of our local government. Their deaths will never be in vain.
I offer my heartfelt condolences to their friends and families and I pray for peace and comfort for all at this difficult time. Their gentle souls will always be in our hearts.
They will always be remembered for their patriotism. May their gentle souls rest in perfect peace”’
The youth and people of Surulere promise not to let this occurrence deter them from casting their votes for the promising young political aspirant, Idris Aregbe as they continue to show massive support for him on the streets despite the lives lost.
