Chelsea beat Newcastle 2-0 at St James’ Park to climb into top spot in the Premier League. Fernandez put into his own net to give the visitors an early lead and Werner, having missed a couple of glorious chances, teed up Abraham for his side’s second 25 minutes from time. Newcastle hit the bar through Longstaff but they were deservedly beaten.
