BREAKING: At Last, Vice-President Osibanjo Reacts To #LekkiMassacre—-After a long wait by Nigerians for the Presidency to address the nation, Vice President Yemi Osibanjo has finally made a statement concerning the shootings by Nigeria Army on Unarmed civilians at the Lekki part of Lagos.

The Vice president took to his social media handles (Twitter and Instagram) on Wednesday night, more than 24 hours after the tragic incident occurred to sympathize with Nigerians and also promise to bring to justice those responsible.

His statement however did not offer any explanation as to those behind the shootings and killings of peaceful protesters in Lagos state.

He said:

“My heart goes out to all the victims of the Lekki shootings, and also the policemen and all other men and women who lost their lives in the past few days in different parts of Lagos & other states.

I spoke to some of those in hospital. The pain of these terrible events is palpable in our towns and cities, and some losses are irreplaceable, but we can and will get justice for all of them.

I stand with Lagos & all other affected states in these trying times.

We pray we will never see a repeat of these tragedies in Jesus name.

God bless you all.”
