The elder statesman who started his letter with a heavy heart pleaded with Nigerians and the government to embrace peace and dialogue to resolve the lingering issue in Nigeria.

In his letter, Obasanjo said Buhari and the military did not exhaust the avenue for dialogue before applying force on the protesters.

He also pleaded with the youths to be mindful of those who are committing arson, destructive acts under the guise of #EndSARS protesters.

The Genius Media reports that soldiers opened fire on protesters at the Lekki toll gate in Lagos but denied being behind the incident which has sparked global outrage.
