BREAKING: Ghana Resumes International Flights [SEE DATE]-–The Kotoka International Airport in Ghana will open for international flights from September 1.

It was shut about five months ago after the outbreak of coronavirus.

On Sunday, President Akufo-Addo said public health officials can now conduct rapid tests on passengers.

BREAKING: Ghana Resumes International FlightsIn his 16th address to the nation on the pandemic, Akufo-Addo said:

“I am glad to announce that KIA will reopen and resume operations from Tuesday, September 1, 2020.”

The president confirmed that the decision and measures to be adhered to have been communicated to international airlines worldwide.

The Ghanaian leader said passengers must be in possession of negative COVID-19 done not more than 72 hours before the scheduled time of the flight.

Akufo-Addo stated that the country was determined to make sure the pandemic was totally defeated.

“The commitment to ensuring that the gradual easing of restrictions, including the reopening of our airports, does not lead to the importation or resurgence of the virus into our country, is firmly in place,” he assured.

Nigeria will open its international airports in Lagos and Abuja on September 5.
