Unified heavyweight boxing champion, Anthony Joshua, was at the Ikoyi Passport Office, Lagos on Thursday, two days after registering for his Nigeria national ID card.
The 30-year-old was received by the Passport Control Officer (PCO), Manir Yari, and other senior officers of the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS).
It was not immediately known if he came to apply for the Nigerian passport.
Although registered as a British boxer, Joshua flies the Nigerian flag whenever he fights.
Born in England to Nigerian parents, Joshua spent some of his early years in Nigeria as a boarding school student at Mayflower School in Ikenne, Ogun State.
He was in his hometown Sagamu on Wednesday and met with the Akarigbo of Remoland, Oba Babatunde Ajayi, and residents of the town.
The National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) on Tuesday published photos of Joshua registering for his national ID
“Anthony Joshua enrolls for National Identification Number and issued his NIN slip,” NIMC tweeted.
The commission posted photos of the world heavyweight champion during registration.
It also issued Joshua the slip immediately after registration.
