Photos purporting the sacked Bayelsa State governor-elect, David Lyon, as rehearsing for his scheduled swearing-in on Friday have surfaced online.

The Supreme Court on Thursday annulled Lyon’s election in the 2019 Bayelsa governorship poll less than 24 hours to his swearing-in.

Lyon was seen in photos being circulated on social media practicing the swearing-in motorcade ride for the even which was supposed to hold this Friday.

The apex court sacked the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for presenting a running mate with fake certificates.

In an unanimous judgment delivered by Justice Ejembi Ekwo, the court ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to withdraw the certificate of return earlier issued to him.

Justice Ekwo ordered INEC to issue a fresh certificate of return to the aspirant who polled the second highest votes in the election.

The electoral umpire had earlier declared that Lyon polled 352,552 votes to defeat his closest rival Duoye Diri of the PDP who got 143, 172 votes.

Based on the Supreme Court judgement, INEC will now recognize PDP’s Diri as the Bayelsa governor-elect.
