The National Chairman of the Alliance for New Nigeria (ANN), Emmanuel Dania has described the action of the Independent National Electoral Commission of deregistering political parties as unconstitutional.

Addressing members of the press in Lagos, Mr Dania expressed his party’s displeasure at the decision of INEC to deregister 74 political parties without due process. He noted that the nation’s electoral empire maybe having more intentions as it’s decision was against the constitutional provisions contained in the Inter Party Advisory Council of Nigeria (IPAC) statement released on Thursday, February 6th, 2020.

It will be recalled that INEC had in a statement OK no Thursday, February 6th announced the de registration of 74 political parties and approved only 18 from the current political parties in Nigeria. This further means that the deregistered parties won’t be partaking in the forthcoming local government elections.

Reacting to this development, the party’s National Chairman, who was in company of the party’s Founder, Prince Adebola Adekoya and a party faithful revealed that it was very wrong for INEC to deregister ANN as the party is actively present OK no 28 States across the country and also getting its candidates ready for the upcoming local elections which will be holding in the 774 Local governments in the country.

Mr Dania assured Nigerians that the Party’s goals are long term visions captured at reshaping the country to be the dream of all youth and theirs is a project of over 20years and very certain that ANN will have greater impact in the nearest future.
