Nigerian actress Funke Akindele and her siblings have been called out by the Bishop of Methodist Church Nigeria, Diocese of Ikorodu, Rt. Rev Samson Osundina, after they refused to attend their father’s burial rite in Ikorodu on January 17, 2020.

Reports have it that their dad, Very Revd. Godwin Olusoji Akindele, was buried on Friday after he  died on Saturday, December 7, 2019, aged 73, but his children were conspicuously absent at his Service of Songs.

While delivering the burial sermon, Rev. Osundina thanked the children for taking care of their father during the times when he was ill, but stressed the fact that paying him the last respect as children was very important and significant.

He enjoined them to retrace their steps by making amends wherever necessary. He then suspended the usual outing and thanksgiving service which are final programes in Christian’s burial, till the deceased’s children are available to attend.

Some Nigerians also didn’t waste time to lampoon Funke Akindele for neglecting her father’s burial.

Meanwhile, Funke Akindele and her friends are enjoying life in Dubai at the moment.
