The federal government has given conditions for the reopening of land borders.

President Buhari approved the extension of border closure, while the land borders are expected to be re-opened on January 31,2020.

Meanwhile, the Federal Government has given a fresh condition for the reopening of land borders, insisting that ECOWAS countries must respect rules of origin, vowing it Nigeria will no longer tolerate repackaging of imported goods.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs Godfrey Onyema stated these on Monday at the end of a committee meeting.

It declared that goods coming into the country from ECOWAS states must have 30% local inputs.
