Nigerian on social media on Saturday reacted to the on Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, warning all commuters, especially those travelling through the route for the Eid-El-Kabir (Sallah) to turn back, stay home or use alternative routes.

While some opined that the gridlock is due to ongoing construction work in the axis, others blamed the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) whose Redemption Camp is located along the road.

The RCCG just concluded its annual convention of ministers on Saturday morning with attendees from all over the country headed back home, thus exacerbating the traffic situation along the axis.

One eyewitness warned that there may be an accident involving articulated vehicles along the way and warned commuters to avoid the road or use alternative routes.
